Bode’s Hit Nike Astro Grabber Is Coming Back Soon in All-Black
Mar 7, 2025
Official images show one of two colorways for the collaboration's next chapter.
Bode’s Nike debut was widely hailed as one of the best sneaker releases of 2024, and the next chapter for the once-obscure football sneaker is about to commence soon.
The Bode x Nike Astro Grabber will release in two colorways this spring, one of which has leaked via official images. “Black/Coconut Milk” are the colors listed for the sneaker that has been shown, but it’s really an all-black affair.
Whereas the darker of the two colorways from last year’s capsule was made of leather, this one opts for the same mesh base as the white sister shoe. Suede is then used for the eyestay and mustache, while the Swoosh is rendered in leather. And just like that other black pair, a single bronze-tone football charm comes affixed to the laces rather than the more colorful assortment that came with the white one. The only place you’ll find “Coconut Milk” white is on the Bode-branded tongue tag and insole.
An additional “Chlorophyll” colorway is also forthcoming, and while its official images haven’t leaked, it did appear at Bode’s Super Bowl fashion show last month. The new dash of color comes with the leather build of last year’s Astro Grabber.
The Astro Grabber was a long forgotten turf sneaker from the ’70s that was plucked out of the archives by Emile Bode and her namesake label as part of a project romanticizing high school and collegiate football from the ’30s up through the ’70s. The campaign even features images of Bode’s father as his high school’s football captain in 1971.
