The Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs has inducted the Paramount Chief of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Area, Oblempong Dr. Wetse Kojo II, as a member of the House.

A letter issued and signed by the Registrar of the House, Enoch Addo, confirmed the development, stating that, by law, the chief now also serves as the President of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council.

The letter was copied to the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Ministry of the Interior, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, the Ga West Municipal Assembly, the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands, and the Lands Commission.

The Chief of Staff of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council, Daniel Nii Ardey Tagoe, who confirmed this, welcomed the induction, describing it as a call for peace and unity within the traditional area.

In an interview with the Ghanaian Times over the weekend, he urged all stakeholders to support the paramount chief in restoring the prominence of the Ngleshie Alata Stool.

"I appeal to all, especially the seven divisional quarters of the James Town Paramount Stool, Adanse, Ajumanko, Trom, Adadentan, Anumansa, Plerno, and Afienaa as well as over 100 villages and chiefs under the traditional area, to come together and support the paramount chief," he said.
