It was pomp and colour at Meteitei Boys High School in Nandi County after the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, along with friends, rewarded the boys with a rare Scania bus following the school’s impressive results in the 2024 KCSE. Last year’s results were the best since its establishment in 1981.

In 2023, Felix Koskei had promised the boys a Scania-engineered bus if they broke the record.

The school, which emerged third in Nandi County in last year’s KCSE, had an overall mean of 8.9, up from 8.2 in 2023. According to the Senior Principal, Barnabas Too, the overall performance was A- 23, B 101, B 112, C 23, and C- 6.

A total of 431 students attained university entry marks. The principal attributed the good performance to the cooperation between teachers, students, parents, subordinate staff, and the Board of Management.

The area MP, who is also the Education Committee Chair in the National Assembly, thanked the parents for their support of the school’s programs, which created an ambient environment for both students and teachers.

He also expressed gratitude to the Head of Public Service, an alumnus of the school, for his concern and dedication to the school’s development. He reiterated his unwavering support for ensuring Taptengelei Technical becomes a world-class institution.
