Charlie Stayt was forced to apologise to BBC Breakfast viewers after his co-star suffered an awkward blunder during Friday's (March 14) episode of the morning programme.
Charlie and Nina Warhurst fronted Friday's show, with weather reporter Matt Taylor giving updates throughout. However, Matt's live broadcast from Cheltenham was cut short as tech issues meant TV viewers could not hear him. As the sound cut out, the camera panned back to Charlie and Nina, leaving the pair having to address the issue.
"OK, my apologies. We seem to have... Matt is still talking, we can't hear him! That's a problem," Charlie said. "Matt, I think you could hear me then, which is slightly awkward because he's still there listening now."
The host then appeared to discuss the matter with a producer, before reassuring TV viewers Matt would be back with more updates.
Charlie added: "Is that going to get any better? Do we go back to Matt? No, we're going to leave that for the time. We will get a full weather forecast from Cheltenham with Matt and we'll get all of that sorted out." Nina then chimed in: "We know how important the weather is to everyone watching!"
