"Blessed Geza Reveals Shõcking List of Zimbabwe’s Enemies — You Wōn’t Believe Who’s on Top "
Mar 29, 2025
The ruling party in Zimbabwe, Zanu-PF, has kicked out a member named Blessed Runesu Geza. He was a member of the Central Committee and a war veteran. The party's legal leader, Patrick Chinamasa, announced this decision, saying Geza tried to harm the party and committed acts against the country.
Geza was removed because he publicly opposed the idea of President Emmerson Mnangagwa staying in power past his two terms, which end in 2028. This goes against the party's decision at a meeting in 2024, where they agreed to support Mnangagwa staying until 2030.
Chinamasa told the media that Geza's actions broke the party's rules. He emphasized that party members must be loyal and disciplined. He said, "The party leaders agreed that Blessed Geza should be removed from Zanu-PF immediately."
People in the party and war veterans have reacted differently to this news. Douglas Mahiya, who is in charge of war veterans, said he supports Mnangagwa staying in power. He said that going against the party's decisions is like going against the country. He stated, "What the party has agreed on cannot be changed. One person cannot undo what everyone else wants."
Besides Geza, the party also removed other members for various reasons. Gifford Gomwe from Mashonaland West was removed for creating a WhatsApp group that criticized the party. Kudakwashe Gopo from Masvingo Province was removed for causing trouble at meetings and creating a similar group. These removals show that Zanu-PF is serious about keeping its members in line. Chinamasa said, "It is very important that we have discipline within the party."
