Duncan Ferguson has revealed how much he spent on his iconic Everton tattoo ahead of Wednesday's Merseyside derby at Anfield.
Ferguson, who was working as a pundit for Sky Sports alongside Reds legend Jamie Carragher on Wednesday night, cast his mind back to the famous 2001 Merseyside derby at Goodison Park before the match, which saw Liverpool dramatically claim a 3-2 victory thanks to Gary McAllister's winner deep into stoppage time.
The 2001 Merseyside derby epitomised just how bitter the rivalry is between Liverpool and Everton, with 12 yellow cards and a red card brandished during the fierce Premier League match.
After Emile Heskey gave Liverpool an early lead in the fifth minute, Ferguson restored parity for the Toffees with a a left-footed strike just before half-time — and celebrated jubilantly by taking his shirt off in front of rocking Goodison Park.
During the wild celebrations, Ferguson taunted Liverpool supporters by pointing towards his tattoo of the Everton crest on his shoulder. The striker had personalised the ink by including his kit number - No 9 - in the middle of the Toffees badge.
