Streaming review

The Righteous ­Gemstones (Sky Atlantic and NOW) is a series that has rivalled streaming behemoths like The White Lotus in the US but largely sailed under the radar here.

That’s a shame because this Danny McBride-­created ­comedy, about a family of money-grabbing televangelists, has long been serving up some of the sharpest satire on TV, sending up the hypocrisy and excess of ‘all-­religion-and-no-Christianity’ America while somehow not quite annoying it so much that it tunes out.
