Charlotte Flair felt like a failure during her divorce and knee injury recovery.

She felt anxious about returning to WWE and being judged by the audience.

Flair found peace in revealing her divorce, learning self-worth, and embracing her comeback.

Charlotte Flair recently shared her first public comments on her divorce from fellow WWE Superstar Andrade. During Charlotte's time away from WWE rehabbing an injury, she was also dealing with a private struggle—her separation and eventual divorce, which remained largely unknown to fans. While WWE performers deserve privacy regarding their personal lives, Flair made a conscious effort to keep the news out of the spotlight.

When Charlotte started talking about the feelings she was having as she was filing for divorce and trying to keep the news a secret, she said she felt like a failure. Flair explained:

"I felt like I was failing at my job. I felt like I was failing in my personal life, and the embarrassment of being divorced again and then being compared to my father. When I made the decision to file for divorce, the only thing that I kept thinking was, like, I just didn't want anyone to know. Right, like oh my gosh, 'I have failed again.'"

She said she was also worried about her knee injury and how she would be perceived by the WWE Universe when she returned after so much time away. "I think you know, as women, I think men too, but it's like everyone's probably thinking, well, she's going to come back a year older; she's going to come back less than... and unfortunately, the WWE audience hasn't gotten to see the comeback of Charlotte Flair. This wasn't a Charlotte Flair redemption story." She added, "... but for me it's a redemption story for me because everything that I have feared or been scared of or embarrassed of publicly; because you know everyone has an opinion, even though they don't know the facts."
