Wolves interest in Premier League winger downplayed after ‘disastrous’ first season
Apr 3, 2025
Wolves will be looking to strengthen this summer – but the club are seemingly unlikely to make a move for one supposed Premier League winger target.
It’s been a very turbulent season for Wolves, but one that looks like it will end in survival.
There is now only a 0.76% percent chance that Wolves will be relegated, with the club being nine points clear of the drop zone with eight Premier League games left to play.
Fans are optimistic that next season will be much better.
But to ensure that happens, Fosun need to back Vitor Pereira, and the recruitment needs to be right.
One player Wolves have been linked recently is Luis Guilherme of West Ham United – and transfer expert Graeme Bailey has given Molineux News the lowdown on the situation.
Luis Guilherme set to leave West Ham, but Wolves move not unlikely
Guilherme, 19, joined West Ham last summer in a £25.5 million deal (BBC Sport) from Palmeiras.
He became the first signing made by Julen Lopetegui, and there were high hopes for him at the London Stadium.
But the 19-year-old has largely been a spectator in his first term at the club, and only made his first Premier League start against Wolves on Tuesday night.
Statistics showed that Guilherme struggled to make much of an impact against Wolves, before he made way at half-time in a triple substitution by Graham Potter.
