Ruben Amorim makes 'crazy' Man Utd comment as he looks to outdo Sir Alex Ferguson

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confessed that it would be "crazy" to believe his team could win the Premier League title next season. Despite this, he is eager to restore United to their former glory and refuses to use time as an excuse. He will be leading his team in his 20th Premier League match against Manchester City tomorrow, having only secured 22 points from a possible 57 since taking over from Erik ten Hag.
The club's management has initiated 'Project 21', aiming to secure a 21st league title by 2028, coinciding with the club's 150th anniversary. However, ahead of the clash with City at Old Trafford, Amorim admitted that it's preposterous to think United – who haven't won the Premier League since 2013 - can claim the title next season. "I understand, I'm not naive," said Amorim. "I'm not saying that we're going to win the title next year - I'm not crazy. What I am saying is I don't want this conversation to be that we need a lot of years to be competitive - I cannot think like that.

"We're in a rush. I cannot manage that. It's not in me. That's why I'm putting pressure on myself. I know that we're not going to be the biggest contender in the next year or two years. I know we need to do a lot of things. We're doing a lot of things, putting in some standards, and sometimes we change players because they haven't adjusted here, sometimes they have to learn to adjust to our new standards.
