The celebrity chef said that as long as her energy lasts and she keeps well, she’ll stay working - and she opened up about Ballerina Farm's recent stay in Ballymaloe
Darina Allen has ruled out stepping back or slowing down from her busy working life in Ballymaloe after launching a new business last year at the age of 75.
The celebrity chef added that the word “retirement” doesn’t appeal to her in any way and she loves to travel.
She also opened up about Hannah Neeleman and her husband Daniel, better known as Ballerina Farm on social media, recent visit to the cookery school.
Darina told RSVP Magazine: "I’ve drawn back from the day to day running of Ballymaloe Cookery School. I’ve a great team here and it’s a very well-oiled machine.
"I started a new business last year, at age 75, called the Ballymaloe Organic Farm School. There’s a real interest for people to learn how to grow vegetables, keep bees and keep animals.
"The response has been incredible and people have flown in from America. People are leaving the cities to buy or rent land in the countryside.
"They want to take back control over their lives by becoming more self-sufficient after waking up in another traffic jam. It’s a movement.
"And we’re not just talking about it, we’re doing all of these things on the farm already."
