A contestant who appeared on The Chase revealed winners are treated to a little something extra if they come out on top. The Chase has been running since 2009 and has catapulted the likes of Anne Hegerty, Mark Labbett and Paul Sinha to national stardom.

Hosted by Bradley Walsh, the game follows four players as they test their general knowledge against a professional quizzer. Each contestant is given one minute to answer as many questions as they can, with each correct answer worth £1,000.

They are then given the option to stick with whatever offer they have earnt, or take the higher or lower option to move either closer or further away from the chaser, ultimately kickstarting an often nail-biting head-to-head.

If they make it through to the final chase, the team must set a score for the chaser to beat. If the chaser is unable to catch their score, the remaining contestants split the money in the prize pot and often walk away with thousands of pounds. But money isn't the only thing winners get.

Speaking on Reddit, one contestant recalled how the team received snacks and drinks after they won. "You get snacks in the green room and drinks (Non-Alcoholic!) No champers (If) when you win though," they wrote.

Whether a contestant wins or loses, their fares are paid for by the show and others have claimed that players receive an allowance of up to £30 for food.
