Jamie Greene was elected as a Conservative, so why doesn't he resign?
Apr 6, 2025
Such a pity that his principles do not extend to recognising that as a list MSP he owes his seat entirely to the fact that the Tories put his name on that list, not as a representative of the electorate but as a member of that Tory party.
If he did indeed possess principles, he would resign his seat altogether because he is no longer qualified to be there.
Is it a case of “these are my principles but if you don’t like them I have others”?

I’VE heard it said by the late, great Phil Ochs that “being a Liberal means being ten degrees to the left in fair weather, ten degrees to the right in foul.” Granted, he was talking about American Liberals, but I believe the sentiment fits in this case.
