Aaron Rodgers looks set to sign for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but no deal is still agreed upon despite meeting with the team and throwing with DK Metcalf this past week leading to speculation
Aaron Rodgers knows that the Minnesota Vikings plan to start JJ McCarthy this season, leaving him with one option to be a starting quarterback this season - the Pittsburgh Steelers... but no deal is yet signed.
Rodgers has already met with the Steelers to discuss parameters of a deal and him being the starting quarterback, but he left their facilities without a deal. This has seen questions surround his future, with some believing him to be holding out for a move to the Vikings.
But all signs currently point to him eventually joining the Steelers, clearly looking to play next season after being seen throwing to new Pittsburgh wide receiver DK Metcalf last week. And CBS Sports has projected that his contact could be worth up to $30 million.
Rodgers is sure to sign a one-year deal should be join the Steelers, taking his career as a year-to-year decision at this point ahead of his 42nd birthday later this year.
And with Russell Wilson signing a one-year deal with the New York Giants which was worth $21 million, Rodgers' deal is said to be slightly higher to secure his services.
While the Steelers look set to sign him, some fans have become angered with his actions in stalling his decision, with their former quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger believing him to be holding out for a deal with the Vikings.
