Clay Aiken Steps Out With Lookalike Son For Rare Red Carpet Appearance
Apr 7, 2025
The two share a very sweet resemblance.
Clay Aiken made a rare appearance with his teenage son over the weekend.
The “American Idol” finalist stepped out with his 16-year-old son, Parker, for the opening night of “Boop!” the musical on Broadway.
“Proud to support Uncle David [Foster] on his INCREDIBLE Broadway debut,” Aiken said on his Instagram stories on Saturday.
Foster is the uncle of Aiken’s son, Parker.
Aiken, who is openly gay, conceived his son through in vitro fertilization with Foster’s sister, Jaymes Foster, who is also a music producer.
Aiken and Jaymes Foster are best friends. They met when Aiken was a contestant on “American Idol” in 2003.
Aiken publicly came out as gay when he announced the birth of his son in 2008, calling it “the first decision I made as a father.”
“I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things,” he said in a People magazine cover story at the time. “I wasn’t raised that way, and I’m not going to raise a child to do that.”
Jaymes Foster has spoken about how her relationship with Aiken changed after the birth of their son.
“We love each other dearly and deeply as friends, but I think as parents now, there’s an even greater bond, certainly for me,” she told People magazine in 2008. “Our job is to remain best friends for the rest of our lives and that’s the most important thing for Parker.”
