A man identified as Kamoru Ojo has been arrested for allegedly killing his 27- year- old daughter, Shakirat, and burying her in a shallow grave around the house. The suspect and the deceased had a disagreement that escalated to a physical assault in their house in the Ojo area of Lagos State.

The incident happened on the 3rd of April, 2024. It was made known that during the altercation, the suspect started beating his daughter (now deceased) and in the process, she lost consciousness and died. Instead of taking her to the hospital or confessing to the crime, the suspect decided to cover up the crime by secretly burying the corpse in a shallow grave.

The family and relatives did not know that the young woman had been killed. They started looking for her and after searching for days, the case of a missing person was reported and filed with the police in Okokomaiko Division. The case was handed over to detectives at the homicide and crime scene department.

The detectives, while looking for the deceased, visited the house and after a thorough search, they discovered a new shallow grave in the compound. Upon digging the grave, the remains of the missing person were found. Ojo was arrested immediately while the body was exhumed and deposited in a morgue. Further investigation is ongoing on the matter as stated by the police.
