Lidl urges shoppers to return item that could cause fever and cramps

The Food Standards Agency has issued information to customers
Lidl has urged customers to return an item due to risk of contamination that could make them ill. The latest product recall has said the food item could be "contaminated with Salmonella."
The budget supermarket is recalling its Sol and Mar Chicharricos BBQ Pork Scratching product due to the risk of illness. Customers are being urged to return the product to their nearest store and are advised "not to eat it".
On its website, the Food Standards Agency (FSA): "Lidl GB is recalling Sol and Mar Chicharricos BBQ Pork Scratchings because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.
"Customers are being asked to return this product to their nearest store where a full refund will be provided."
It added that if people have bought it "we advise you not to eat it." In their "risk statement", the FSA said "Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps."
What is being recalled?
Lidl's Sol and Mar Chicharricos BBQ Pork Scratchings are being recalled, specifically their 100g pack size with the following best before dates:
August 5, 2025, August 6, 2025, August 7, 2025, August 8, 2025, August 9, 2025, August 10, 2025, August 11, 2025 and August 12, 2025.
