Apr 7, 2025
Samuel Nartey George, popularly known as Sam George, is a Ghanaian engineer and communications specialist who transitioned into politics after building a reputable career in public service and strategic communications. Born on January 22, 1985, he hails from Ningo-Prampram in the Greater Accra Region.
He commenced his education at St. Augustine’s College in Cape Coast and later earned a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Driven by a keen interest in law and governance, he pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) in Telecommunications Law from the University of London and also studied Communication at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), equipping himself with a strong foundation in policy and public affairs.
Prior to entering mainstream politics, Sam George served as a Presidential Staffer at the Office of the President under the administrations of the late President John Evans Atta Mills and President John Dramani Mahama. In this role, he was instrumental in government communications and policy advocacy, earning national attention for his articulate representation of government initiatives and frequent media engagements.
His extensive background in public administration and active involvement in national discourse positioned him well for political leadership. In 2015, he won the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency, unseating the long-serving incumbent, Hon. Enoch Teye Mensah. He was subsequently elected to Parliament in 2016 and officially assumed office in January 2017.
