How Mohamed Salah is stopping Liverpool from signing ‘fantastic’ talent who has told his club he wants to leave
Apr 8, 2025
The future of Mohamed Salah at Liverpool remains up in the air.
It is well known that the Egyptian is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season and despite being a crucial player for Arne Slot, there has been no breakthrough in negotiations with the season having entered the month of April.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold set to join Real Madrid this summer, Liverpool fans will be slightly concerned about the 32-year-old’s situation as the winger has provided his team with 32 goals and 22 assists across 45 matches throughout the current season.
With the possibility of Salah leaving Merseyside this summer, Liverpool have been keeping an eye on potential replacements and one of their targets has informed his club that he want to leave ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Liverpool have been linked to Jamie Gittens for some time now as the possibility of the 20-year-old leaving Dortmund this summer was always high.
The Reds are continuing to scout the winger, reports Fabrizio Romano for GIVEMESPORT, as several clubs have already submitted enquiries about the player.
The transfer expert states that Liverpool are one of the teams involved, but the Premier League leaders can’t make a move at present as the Reds continue to try and tie Salah down to a new contract.
Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg is also reporting that Gittens has informed Dortmund that he is ready to leave the Bundesliga outfit this summer, with several English clubs waiting to make their move for the 20-year-old.
