Kings Provide Unfortunate Malik Monk Update Ahead of Nuggets Game
Apr 9, 2025
The Sacramento Kings will return to the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday as they face off against the Denver Nuggets.
Sacramento had a slow start to their six-game road trip but they were able to end it on a three-game winning streak.
They will now look to extend that streak on Wednesday against a Nuggets team that has dropped their last four games and will enter Wednesday’s contest against the Kings with a new head coach after they fired Michael Malone on Tuesday.
While the Nuggets have struggled recently and are coming off a massive coaching change, they will still be a tough matchup for the Kings, especially since Sacramento will be without one of their key players.
Sacramento announced on Tuesday night that guard Malik Monk has been ruled out of Wednesday’s game against Denver due to a calf injury.
Monk suffered the injury during Monday’s victory over the Detroit Pistons and he will now miss Wednesday’s game due to left calf soreness.
This is a massive blow to the Kings who are still fighting for a spot in the Play-In Tournament and to make matters worse, the team signed Terence Davis to a contract on Tuesday, which could signal an extended absence for Monk.
Of course, Monk has played a key role for the Kings this season, especially after they asked him to become the starting point guard following the trade deadline move that sent De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs.
