A children's play area inside a Birmingham park has been sealed off by police.

A huge cordon is currently in place in Oaklands Recreation Ground, off Hob Moor Road in Yardley.

It's not clear how long the cordon, which runs around a children's playground, has been in place.

Officers have been seen patrolling the area.

A police car was spotted parked near one of the entrances to the green space.

There are entrances off Hob Moor Road, Holder Road, Coventry Road and the A4040.

The exact nature of the incident is unclear at this time.
