One Show presenter from Ammanford said she even bought it without her husband seeing it in person
Welsh presenter Alex Jones has revealed how she bought a new house without her husband seeing it in person - and there was one thing that was ‘important to me’ but added ‘I don’t know why’. The 48-year-old from Ammanford has moved into the plush property a Georgian house near Tittenhurst Park in Sunningdale, Berkshire.
And she explained in an interview with The Times how the house has an incredible heritage - it was owned by Beatles John Lennon and Ringo Starr at different times. But the deciding factor, she said, was the front door. The mum-of-three said: “It also has a double front door. I don’t know why but that was really important to me.
“It has quite a colourful past. John Lennon owned it at one point and so did Ringo Starr. Our house is very symmetrical — the kind of house I always wanted when I was little.” She explained gthat her husband Charlie was a long way away when she saw it - and she knew she had to move fast.
Alex said: “I saw it on my own originally because my husband, Charlie, was in New Zealand. I wrote a letter to Penelope and explained why it would be a lovely home for the family. She wrote back and said, ‘You’re exactly the type of person I want to sell this house to.’
