Anthony Edwards Decides to Grant Full Custody of His Daughter to Ayesha Howard
Apr 10, 2025
NBA star Anthony Edwards has agreed to give Ayesha Howard full custody of their 6-month-old daughter, Aubri Summers Howard.
According to court documents obtained this week, Edwards did not contest Ayesha’s request for sole and custody of Aubri, who has been in her mother’s care since birth.
The decision comes after months of legal back-and-forth between the two parties over paternity and child support.
Back in December 2024, Edwards filed a paternity suit in Georgia, asking for a DNA test to confirm his biological relationship to the child. He also requested child support, if he was found to be the father.
A DNA test later confirmed that Edwards is indeed the father, but according to Howard, he remained emotionally and financially absent from their daughter’s life after the test results came back.
“Anthony’s continued refusal to engage with me or offer any support throughout my pregnancy and after the birth of our child has left me in an extraordinarily difficult position,” Howard stated in legal documents.
After relocating to California, Ayesha filed a separate case there to address child support. Edwards, however, pushed for the matter to stay in Georgia—a request a judge ultimately granted.
In his court statement, Edwards made it clear that he was not pursuing custody or visitation rights.
