Jack P Shepherd joined Coronation Street as David Platt 25 years ago.

His character has found himself involved in some tense storylines and more recently he was struck down by a vehicle during a scam with the culprit fleeing the scene and leaving him for dead in the road.

The actor joined the cast in 2000, taking over the role of Gail and Martin Platt's troublesome son from Thomas Ormson, who had played the role of David as a small child.

He has very much been a staple on our screens ever since and despite his questionable antics over the decades, fans can't help but fall in love with Jack's character David, having watched him grow over the years.

Following in the footsteps of his fellow Corrie co-star Colson Smith, Jack has now entered the ITV Celebrity Big Brother house alongside the likes of EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, singer Chesney Hawkes, US YouTube star Jojo Siwa, Love Island's Chris Hughes and Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke.

While we know much about his rebellious character we know less about the actor when he isn't working.

Ahead of finding fame on the iconic ITV soap, Jack had always wanted to be an actor and had actually starred in Where The Heart Is playing the role of Carl Smith in 1999.
