It’s no secret Melania Trump is significantly younger than her husband Donald, but she finally addressed the age gap in her recent memoir.

The First Lady met her future husband President Donald Trump at a party at the Kit Kat Club in 1998. She was 28 years old at the time, and he was 52. Trump had already been married and divorced twice with four children.

Trump was on a date that day, but he ended up leaving her for Melania. The former model wouldn’t give him her number at first, until finally she took his phone number instead, promising to call.

She explained in her memoir, ‘Melania’, that though he was older than her, that gap didn’t matter. She added what attracted her to him in simple six words – his “work ethic and success were admirable.”

“He was a bit older than me, but I, at the age of twenty-eight, felt an instant connection with him,” Melania wrote.

She continued: “He projected a sense of authenticity. He had a zest for life that was infectious. He was successful and hardworking, but also so down to earth and real. I really liked that about him

“After returning home, I was giddy with joy. It’s truly a rare feeling to instantly connect with someone on such a deep level. I was immediately at ease in Donald’s company, as if our souls had known each other for a long time. Our chemistry was undeniable, and our connection felt natural.”
