Quick Links
The following contains spoilers for Black Mirror Season 7, Episode 3, "Hotel Reverie," now streaming on Netflix. It also contains a mention of suicide.
One of the big draws of the Black Mirror TV series is how diverse it can be. Some episodes are straight-up action joints with machines as the villains, as seen in "Metalhead." Others use technology as tools to quietly hurt or imprison others, like "Black Museum." However, some episodes focus on romance and quiet, cerebral stories about emotions and the human condition.
Black Mirror Season 7 tells yet another tale of the heart in "Hotel Reverie," which leans into queer love the way "Striking Vipers" did. As the journey unfolds, it reminds fans that while deep fakes and building digital worlds off existing property is usually a bad thing, there may be a rare occasion that someone finds it to be useful and soothing.
