Gardeners' World presenter Adam Frost has jokingly revealed the "grim" warning he often issues to his wife Sulina and their four children after gaining experience as a grave digger before his rise to fame.
The garden designer and horticulturist, known for his designs that have featured at the Chelsea Flower Show, appeared on BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends to discuss his new book, For the Love of Plants.
The radio show featured Adam, 55, with host Clive Anderson and several guests, including writer Bridget Christie and comedian Louise Young.
On the programme, BBC star Adam discussed growing up and how he got a job as a garden designer following a tough childhood. He said: "I left home, got a bedsit, and luckily enough, I got a job on the parks department."
However, it wasn't just gardening that Adam had to do while on the job. The star recalled: "We grew 200,000 plants with a special interest in Victorian parks.
"You even had to dig a grave, you even had to be a qualified grave digger, which I remind my missus and the kids on a regular basis," he quipped.
