'I bought Harrods' £70 Easter egg to see if it was worth it – one thing stunned me'
Apr 11, 2025
While children are generally happy with bargain Easter eggs, adults may want something more luxurious- and one man recently spent out on an Easter egg from Harrods as he wanted to see if it is really worth it
A chocolate enthusiast has given their verdict on one of the UK's priciest Easter eggs available this year.
With Easter just around the corner, supermarkets are brimming with a variety of delectable chocolate treats, making it difficult to determine which Easter eggs are truly top-notch.
While children are usually content with an inexpensive Easter egg, adults may prefer something more luxurious for their Easter indulgence. This year, brands have pulled out all the stops with their creations - from M&S's viral Custard Cream Easter egg to Terry's Chocolate launching their own crème egg to compete with the classic Cadbury's Crème Egg.
Viral food critic Carmie Sellito visited Harrods in London earlier this week and was taken aback by the prices of the luxury Easter eggs in the renowned store's chocolate hall. He expressed his surprise after tasting the Venchi Chocolate BacioDiDama egg, which costs £68 and features creamy caramel chocolate on the outside and dark, crunchy chocolate on the inside.
The food critic, who has previously reviewed some of Harrods' most expensive items, conducted a taste test to determine if it's really worth shelling out nearly £70 for a single Easter egg.
