Major Fast Food Chain and Chick-fil-A Rival Set to Open First-Ever Location in Northern New Jersey
Apr 11, 2025
Bring on the chicken fingers!
More than a year after Raising Cane’s opened its first-ever location in New Jersey, the mouth-watering fast food chain is expanding its territory in The Garden State.
To date, Raising Cane’s has six operating locations in New Jersey: Burlington, Marlton, Cherry Hill, Deptford, Turnersville (Washington Township), and Glassboro.
While residents in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties all get to enjoy their chicken fingers and Cane’s sauce, Northern New Jersey is certainly missing out — or are they?
The Chick-fil-A rival is set to open in Essex County at 645 US-46, Fairfield, in the fall or winter of this year, according to The Montclair Girl.
Of course, residents are thrilled! “Best news ever,” one user commented on Instagram. “I love it,” added another.
Raising Cane’s was founded by Todd Graves and his friend Craig Silvery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1996.
The then-college students pitched their idea at LSU, but it was ultimately rejected. Eventually, Graves opened their first location near his alma mater and the rest was history!
Earlier this year, Raising Cane’s highlighted its exceptional growth in 2024 with 118 new restaurants.
As for the financials, several outlets report that Raising Cane’s saw a 33 percent increase in profits in 2024 totaling a whopping $5.1 billion in sales.
