The Umlazi SAPS is pleased to announce significant progress in its efforts to combat crime. During the month of March, 147 suspects were arrested.
These arrests and recoveries are a result of the SAPS’ and other law enforcement agencies’ continued efforts to intensify their crime prevention and enforcement operations.
The SAPS remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
Umlazi SAPS’ acting station commander, Col Vijend Raju, said, “We have had a noticeable increase in house robberies and carjackings in our area. The community is urged to be extra vigilant. Police have increased patrols around problematic areas which has led to some arrests and we will not rest until we bring all criminals to justice.”
Umlazi SAPS would like to extend its gratitude to the community for their continued support and co-operation. For more information or to report any suspicious activity, contact the Umlazi SAPS directly on 079-899-9804 or the Crime Stop hotline on 08600-10111.
