Barcelona are reportedly worried left-back Alejandro Balde’s will miss the Copa del Rey final after the defender was forced off in the first half against Leganes on Saturday night.

Balde had to be replaced five minutes before half-time after picking up what seemed to be a muscle problem. Hansi Flick sent on Gerard Martin in his place.

The left-back looked really frustrated after going off, and the club are now said to be worried he will miss 2-3 weeks which would rule him out of the Copa del Rey final, according to Sport.

Flick was asked about Balde straight after the match but didn’t have too much to say. “It seems Eric is fine, but Balde not so much. But we’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s tests.”

Barcelona are expected to offer an update on Sunday after Balde undergoes further tests. Let’s hope for good news on the left-back.
