Beyond Paradise: Martha and Humphrey decide not to get married
Sally Bretton, known for her role as Martha Lloyd on BBC's Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise, revealed that she wasn't ready to bid farewell to the tropical detective series back in 2017.
Portraying the fiancée of detective Humphrey Goodman (played by Kris Marshall), Sally first graced the show as Martha in 2017, quickly becoming a fan favourite as her character rekindled an old flame with Humphrey, leading him to leave Saint Marie for London.
During a previous appearance on This Morning, Sally confessed that she would have happily stayed on the show for longer. When asked if she was glad to stop filming in the Caribbean, Sally responded: "No!"
She continued: "I was only out there for four or five weeks. I didn't get any of the hurricanes, I got it at just the perfect time. I had an amazing time."
Looking forward to her character's future in the spin-off Beyond Paradise, Sally shared insights into Martha and Humphrey's new life in Shipton Abbott, Devon, where they're venturing into fostering after their heartbreaking IVF journey.
With much anticipation, Sally said she eagerly accepted the opportunity to reprise her role as Martha in the BBC One offshoot.
"I was part of Kris' exit storyline from the Caribbean, and then we were in the first lockdown, and the phone rang," she recounted to This Morning's Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.
