Apr 12, 2025
Japan attacker Keito Nakamura took his season's tally to 11 goals in the French Ligue 1 with a brace on Friday as Reims claimed a 2-0 win away to Lens.
The 24-year-old steered high into the net for the 33rd-minute opener at Stade Bollaert-Delelis off a low left-wing cross from Sergio Akieme, reaching double figures for goals in one of Europe's five major leagues.
Reims keeper Yehvann Diouf stood firm as the visitors held on to the lead before Nakamura's second in the 88th minute after substitute Nhoa Sangui launched a counter from inside his own half and set up the Japanese to side-foot into the far bottom corner.
The win moved Reims up to 14th on 29 points and out of the relegation zone.
In the Netherlands, attacker Kodai Sano drilled in a left-footed opener 15 seconds into the second half for his second goal this term in the Eredivisie, helping NEC Nijmegen secure a late 2-1 over RKC Waalwijk.
