How to remove limescale from shower screens fast without scrubbing
Apr 13, 2025
Removing limescale and soap scum from shower screens typically takes a lot of elbow grease, which makes it a tedious task – all the more if the buildup is stubbornly stuck. Instead of spending time and effort scrubbing, a professional cleaner behind the Instagram page @thecleangroup has shared their easy method that takes “less than five minutes”.
While vinegar, citric acid and baking soda are great natural methods to remove shower screen limescale, there is one other thing you can use to tackle the task. The expert captioned the video post: “Professional cleaner’s limescale removal secret. This took me less than five minutes.” The cleaning pro recommended using a scraper to remove any stubborn limescale and pointed out how to use it properly.
They said: “Make sure you use a proper scraper that takes razor blades. You’ll need to change them out regularly to get a great finish.
“Your average cleaning/oven scraper just won’t be sharp enough for this job. I find you get a better result with a DIY scraper that takes razor blades. You’ll never waste time scrubbing limescale again!”
Taking to the comments section, some followers were concerned over whether a razor would scratch and damage a shower screen.
The cleaner replied: “Not at all. I guess if you really tried with a corner of the blade, you could, but I’ve never had it do that when I’m scraping off limescale.”
