PlayStation Plus price hike has fans vowing to cancel their subscriptions
Apr 13, 2025

"It was already too expensive"

PlayStation Plus has received a price hike in certain regions, and it's prompting players to cancel their subscriptions in protest.
This is not the first time PlayStation Plus has received a price increase, as the service last received one back in 2023. This saw annual prices rise by as much as $20 for certain tiers.
The economy is in a rough shape right now, and prices of almost everything seem to be going up. Even new video games are going for around £75/$80 if the Mario Kart World prices end up sticking.
So, really, it's just getting a little harder to afford games or subscriptions at the moment.
Hogwarts Legacy is joining PlayStation Plus Extra this month.
Now, Sony is increasing the price of PlayStation Plus in certain countries. The affected regions are Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.
The new prices are as follows:
PlayStation Plus Essential:
One month: 7.99 USD
Three months: 20.99 USD
12 months: 64.99 USD
PlayStation Plus Extra:
One month: 11.99 USD
Three months: 33.99 USD
12 months: 107.99 USD
