Where the Money Went – Mnangagwa’s 5 Most Expensive Properties
Apr 14, 2025
President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe is known to be very wealthy, especially because he owns many expensive properties. While we don't know exactly how much he owns, here are five of his most important properties:
* Big House in Harare: Mnangagwa is building a huge house in Hellensville, a rich area in Harare. The land is about 25,000 square meters, and it includes eight smaller houses. A Chinese construction company has been building it for more than five years. This house is very large and luxurious, making it one of the most expensive private homes in the country.
* Precabe Farm in Kwekwe: Near Sherwood in Kwekwe, Mnangagwa owns a big farm called Precabe Farm. He got this farm during the land reform program in 2002. The farm has over 2,000 cows. People say that at least two cows are killed each week to feed the farm workers, which shows that Mnangagwa is very involved in farming.
* Villa Zimbabwe in Equatorial Guinea: This fancy house, called "Villa Zimbabwe," is in Equatorial Guinea. It's believed that President Teodoro Obiang Nguema gave it to Mnangagwa as a gift. This shows that the two countries have a good relationship. However, not much is known about this house, and the way he got it has caused some arguments about whether things are being done openly and honestly.
* State House in Harare: As the current president, Mnangagwa lives in the State House in Harare. This is the official home of Zimbabwe's leader. It was built in 1910 and has been the home of many of the country's leaders. Even though it's owned by the government, the State House is a big symbol of the president's power and importance.
