Blessed Geza Fights Back As Mnangagwa Moves To Seize All His Properties
Apr 15, 2025
A major political storm has emerged in Zimbabwe as Blessed "Bombshell" Geza, a former intelligence chief and war veteran, strongly rebuffs what he sees as a deliberate smear campaign orchestrated by allies of President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Geza, who is a senior member of the Zanu-PF central committee and has held high-ranking positions in the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO), has found himself embroiled in a heated political and legal dispute after publicly demanding that Mnangagwa resign. This call for resignation comes amid rising factional tensions within the ruling party, where Mnangagwa’s supporters are reportedly working to extend his rule beyond the 2028 constitutional limit.
In response to Geza’s challenge, the government and party officials have reacted harshly, accusing him of numerous crimes, including undermining the authority of the President, inciting violence, and even being involved in vehicle theft. Some Zanu-PF members have suggested that he could face a murder charge. Prominent figures such as Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi have heightened the pressure on Geza, with state-controlled media backing the allegations against him.
A major part of the controversy centers around Geza’s involvement with the Harare Safari Lodge at Lake Chivero. He is accused of illegally occupying the lodge and refusing to pay the property owner, Brett Allan MacDonald. However, court records provide a different account. According to legal documents, Geza took possession of the lodge in 2017 at MacDonald’s request to assist in removing illegal settlers. After this task was completed, MacDonald allegedly offered to sell the lodge and surrounding property to Geza at a reduced price.
