A spectacular final day of the NBA season saw the LA Clippers and Golden State Warriors battle it out to try and lock down a playoff spot.

Meanwhile away from the attention, the Houston Rockets were able to ease up, limiting minutes for their starters, allowing the Denver Nuggets to register a 126-111 win.

There will be no easing up for the Rockets in the NBA Playoffs, following an impressive season that saw them rise from finishing 11th in the Western Conference in 2023-24 to second in 2024-25.

Former NBA star Keyon Dooling believes the Houston Rockets have one of the key stars to watch in the NBA Playoffs.

Dooling told the All The Smoke podcast that he expects Amen Thompson to have a series of breakout performances.

Asked about his young player to watch, the former Utah Jazz player development coach responded.

He said: “I think Amen Thompson down in Houston. I think he’s so dynamic, at both ends of the floor.

“He’s a freak of nature athletically, and in the playoffs I think his game is kind of built for the physicality.

“In the playoffs I think he’s going to have a breakout performance.”
