Yaw Dabo flies two players from his academy to France for trials
Apr 15, 2025
Ghanaian actor and football enthusiast Yaw Dabo has taken another major step forward with his Dabo Soccer Academy.
In a video posted by blogger Zionfelix, Dabo was seen at Kotoka International Airport with two young players from his academy. Accompanied by their guardians, the boys were ready to travel to France for football trials.
This opportunity comes after Dabo’s recent visit to France, where he worked on creating international football links. The actor has been making regular trips abroad to connect with clubs and scouts, aiming to give young Ghanaian talents exposure to bigger opportunities.
While in France, Dabo visited the training facilities of FC Nantes, a respected club in the French Ligue 1. FC Nantes has a rich history, with eight league titles, four Coupe de France wins, and one Coupe de la Ligue. The club is also known for giving chances to African players like Nigeria’s Moses Simon and Mali’s Charles Traore and Kalifa Coulibaly.
Dabo toured the club’s facilities with the help of an aide and a professional linked to FC Nantes. This visit follows his earlier efforts, including bringing Arsenal scout and football agent Phil Antwi to Ghana last year to evaluate players from his academy.
