Ellen Ama Daaku Takes Strong Stand Against Owusu Bempah’s Comments Against Bawumia
Apr 17, 2025
Ellen Ama Daaku, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has strongly rebuked Ernest Owusu Bempah for his recent comments about Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Daaku warned Owusu Bempah to stop making disparaging remarks about Bawumia, following the controversy that erupted after he suggested that the NPP made a mistake by selecting Dr. Bawumia as its flagbearer for the 2024 election. The remarks led to significant backlash, prompting Owusu Bempah to clarify his position.
However, on Movement TV, Daaku didn’t hold back. She criticized Owusu Bempah for attempting to use Bawumia as a scapegoat to promote his own agenda. “Don’t make Dr. Bawumia your chewing stick,” she firmly stated, urging him to stop targeting the Vice President in his public commentary.
Daaku also pointed out that Owusu Bempah’s attempt to undermine Bawumia in favor of Kennedy Agyapong has backfired. “It has backfired, and this should serve as a caution to you. You can campaign for your preferred candidate, but if you want to feel the heat, then you can continue,” she added.
Earlier, Owusu Bempah had argued on Oyerepa TV that grassroots support for Kennedy Agyapong is strong, based on what he claims to be widespread sentiments from ordinary Ghanaians. He emphasized that the party’s leadership should listen to the people’s voices rather than relying on outdated political strategies. “I do not speak on my own; I listen to the grassroots, and the ordinary Ghanaian is saying they want Kennedy Agyapong,” Owusu Bempah said.
