Apr 17, 2025
First up is "Elsie's Plate & Pie," 3145 Government St., in Baton Rouge.
Premiering at 8 p.m. Friday, May 2, the episode is titled “Specialty Spots.” Food Network describes the Elsie's portion of the hour-long series like this: "It's killer comfort in Baton Rouge, where they're puttin' their stamp on pot pie, mouthwatering meat pies, and lights-out lemon-blueberry."
Also in the episode, "a Haitian-born uncle-nephew duo is changing the game in Gainesville, Florida, plating finger-lickin’ chicken birria egg rolls with consommé, plus a gangster garlic-parm fried chicken sandwich." In Dallas, there's Mexican gone vegan, knockin' it out of the park with meatless gorditas and tamales with a twist.
The episode featuring Cou-Yon's Cajun Bar-B-Q, 470 N. Alexander Ave., in Port Allen, will debut at 8 p.m. Friday, May 9. It's titled “Southeast Standouts.”
"A brothers-run joint in Port Allen is servin' up killer Cajun, like the-bomb baked potato topped with crawfish étouffée and shrimp, plus an out-of-bounds brisket po-boy with a side of rice dressing," the synopsis states.
The show also includes, "gourmet grub in Gainesville, Florida, plating scrumptious shrimp rolls and stellar tagliatelle with a touch of tarragon and truffle. And in Atlanta, a Korean-Mexican mashup from a husband-and-wife team is rockin' big-time bulgogi cheesesteaks and lights-out loaded sesame fries."
