Ibrahim Mahama Denies Involvement In Crypto Trading With John Mahama Amid Viral Claims
Apr 18, 2025
Business mogul Ibrahim Mahama has strongly refuted widespread claims suggesting that he is involved in cryptocurrency trading alongside former President John Dramani Mahama. The viral reports, which surfaced across various social media platforms and some online blogs, alleged that the two brothers had partnered in a high-stakes crypto investment scheme — an assertion Ibrahim Mahama describes as entirely false and misleading.
In a statement issued by his legal team, Ibrahim Mahama stated categorically that he has no dealings in cryptocurrency and has never engaged in any such financial activities with his brother, John Mahama. He further expressed concern over the rapid spread of the misinformation, warning the public to be wary of fraudulent content shared online for malicious purposes.
“These reports are not only false but also defamatory. Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has no business interest in cryptocurrency trading, nor has he entered into any partnership with his brother, the former president, regarding such activities,” the statement clarified.
The false claims appear to be part of a broader trend of cyber fraudsters using the names and reputations of high-profile individuals to lure unsuspecting citizens into dubious investment schemes. Analysts believe this could be a tactic used by online scammers to give credibility to crypto platforms that are either non-existent or operate illegally.
