Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered level trick lets you reach 100 sneak without leaving starting area
Apr 24, 2025

It still works!

An old Elder Scrolls Oblivion trick that lets you reach maximum Sneak has been confirmed to also work in the remaster.
Most will remember The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for its infamous number of glitches and exploits. If you want to try and abuse the game engine, there are funny and interesting ways you can bend the game to your will.
For example, there's the Peryite's Shrine exploit where you can level up your combat skills quite easily by attacking NPCs who don't die or fight back.
If you want to gain a leg up early on, it can be quite a good place to start.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion came out in 2006, and got a new remaster this week.
Another old favourite from Oblivion is the easy Sneak exploit, which you can do within the first hour of playing.
Technically, it's not really considered a bug, as the game is behaving as it should.
You can do this bug as soon as you begin the game, after you've created your character and started exploring the caves beneath the Imperial Prison.
After you first get separated from the Emperor and his royal guards, you'll travel through some caves as part of the tutorial.
After gaining some weapons and equipment, you'll come to an area being patrolled by a goblin.
It will walk around a corner towards a fire and stay there without turning around. Once it does this, you can simply enter Sneak mode and start walking in circles (or against a wall).
