Krobea Kwabena Asante, a former presidential staffer of former president Akufo-Addo, has asserted that Kwadwo Mpiani is entirely wrong both historically and legally when he says Chairman is the leader of NPP.

Krobea Kwabena Asante made this comment in a post shared on his Facebook page on 29th April, 2025. He wrote:

"The framers of the NPP constitution deliberately left out the designation of Leader of NPP from the constitution for a reason. According to Mr. BJ Da-Rocha the founding chairman of NPP, the elders didn't want to give any Executive enormous powers so they didn't make any Executive, Leader of the NPP from the get go."

Krobea Kwabena Asante added that it is alien for Wofa Mpiani to suggest that the Chairman is the Leader of the Party. It is no where in the constitution of the party. If it is his assumption fair enough but not  factual.

"The chairman's role is to preside over all meetings but was not made Leader of the Party. If the framers wanted to add that they would have done that so Wofa Mpiani should not create something on nothing.

That said, why did Mr. Mpiani in the Concordia saga, make similar case against the chairman then Mr. Ala Adjatey that he should know his limits as a chairman of the party and not to elevate himself as Leader of the party in most of his arguments against the then Chairman? What has changed?"
