Every Stadium in Scottish Football Ranked by Journalist - Celtic Park Only 4th
May 1, 2025
One thing Scottish football is famous for, is the passionate fans that regularly spectate the sport from the stands around which it is played. They might not have the sort of money that those across the border are working with in England, but that hasn't stopped those in Scotland falling in love with football in the country.
The likes of Celtic and Rangers are considered some of the biggest teams in the world, but even those a little lower on the totem pole have plenty of fans in Scotland and as such, the country has been blessed with some quality stadiums to play host to the beautiful game. Football journalist Hugh MacDonald has visited them all too and decided to rank all 41 of the nation's football venues from worst to best in an article for the Daily Mail.

The 12 stadiums within the Scottish Premiership have been ranked by Hugh MacDonald, but in which order did he put the grounds?

41-31

The worst in the country

The very worst stadium in Scotland, according to MacDonald, is Edinburgh City's Meadowbank. Joining it in the bottom section of the list, though, are the likes of New Douglas Park, a ground shared between Hamilton Academical and Clyde, The Spartans' Ainslie Park, Recreation Park, New Dundas Park and Station Park.
Slightly ahead of those, but still situated in the bottom 11 of MacDonald's rankings are Elgin City's Borough Briggs, Balmoor Stadium, Links Park, New Central Park and Cove Rangers' Balmoral Stadium. New Douglas Park is the only venue in the bottom group to play host to a side higher than League One or Two, with Hamilton Academical currently plying their trade in the Championship.
