B-Real wants to get the alleged Saturday Night Live ban lifted that he and his Cypress Hill brothers received in the early '90s for smoking weed during a performance.
On Thursday, TMZ linked up with the West Coast rapper at LAX and asked him about the group never getting invited to perform on the SNL stage since DJ Muggs smoked weed while performing "I Ain't Goin' Out Like That" on the show back in 1993. There hasn't been an official ban placed on the group, but they, along with their fans, feel there is one, given their long absence from the show.
According to B-Real, SNL creator Lorne Michaels didn't have an issue with the group smoking weed; instead, he believed it was NBC that wasn't feeling the stunt, and he had a message for Michaels regarding the group potentially returning to the late night sketch comedy show.
"Lorne Michaels, bring Cypress hill back, let's go," said B-Real before sharing what he heard Michaels say during the SNL 50th celebration in February. "He said no one is banned so we'll see."
However, B-Real revealed that if Michaels lets the group back in, he will not make any promises about not smoking on the SNL stage again. This isn't the only time B-Real has spoken about the alleged 30-year ban.
