As a frequent shopper, I’ve tried many of their exclusive store-brand products. Many ALDI finds are now staples in my kitchen, like the Park Street Deli Egg Rolls and Simply Nature Pasta Sauce, just to name a couple. Even though I’ve become loyal to plenty of ALDI’s offerings, there are some products that I’ve just always stuck to purchasing the name brand option of, like Diet Coke.

As a daily drinker of Diet Coke, I’ve never branched out to try ALDI’s brand of diet soda, or any store brand for that matter. It’s just something I’ve never given much thought to, until recently.

There has been a lot of chatter on the internet and social media in recent weeks that ALDI’s Summit Diet Cola is just as good, or even better, than the original. So of course after seeing this several times, I set off to ALDI to buy a 12-pack to test this theory for myself.

After my trip to ALDI, I let the Summit Diet Cola chill in my fridge overnight before cracking one open the next day. The first time I tasted it, I drank it on its own just to see how it tasted without comparing it to the original.

After the first sip, my thought was that it seemed a little more flat than I am used to. And I could tell the flavor was a little different, but couldn’t pinpoint exactly what made it different. It was good enough for me to finish the can, and I drank several more in the following days.
