Jay Kontzle is currently at the centre of the drama on the soap following his character's unfortunate split from his wife Dawn Fletcher. She found herself falling for bad boy Joe Tate and ended up in a secretive affair as they jumped at the chance to get together whenever they had time alone.

However, Billy is yet to find out the real reason why his wife decided to call things off. In dramatic scenes set to air next week, Billy's anger will reach a dangerous boiling point with fans wondering if he will get his revenge on Joe.

Billy Fletcher has been a regular character in the Dales since 2018 and quickly became a fan-favourite. He has been involved several turbulent storylines as he was secretly participating in illegal boxing matches to earn quick money for his family.

Away from the screen, Jay lives a more settled life with his wife and three children. The 34-year old actor is originally from Crewe and tied the knot to his wife Mimi in 2016. He regularly shares snaps of their family life to his 51,000 followers on Instagram.

Jay sadly lost his mum when he was a young child. His mum Louise was pushing him in a pram across a pelican crossing, when a car hit them and Jay's pram went through a shop window.

His mum was seriously injured, with Jay called a "miracle baby" as he survived the incident, despite suffering critical injuries including a fractured skull. A few years later, when he was four, Jay's mum died aged just 21 in a car accident.
