Troy Deeney urges Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy to hire the right man for the job

Tottenham Hotspur have somehow found themselves in the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League under Ange Postecoglou, despite enduring one of the most humiliating domestic campaigns in recent memory. While the Premier League season has been nothing short of a disaster, Spurs still have the chance to end the year on a high. Should Postecoglou’s men manage to win the Europa League, it would mark an astonishing achievement, bringing an end to the club’s 17-year wait for silverware.
Domestically, the picture is bleak. Tottenham currently sit 16th in the Premier League table and face the real possibility of finishing just above the relegation zone. With 19 league defeats already, the Lilywhites are on course to register their lowest ever points tally in a single Premier League season. Yet, amid all the doom and gloom, European success could provide a much-needed spark, and possibly a lifeline for Postecoglou’s future at the club.
Despite the disastrous league campaign, Daniel Levy has opted to keep faith in Ange Postecoglou, giving the Australian manager a chance to redeem himself. However, frustration among the fanbase has reached a boiling point, with supporters staging multiple protests to voice their discontent with both Levy’s leadership and the underwhelming performances under Postecoglou. Still, there remains a path to redemption. Should the Spurs boss guide the club to Europa League glory, all could be forgiven. In doing so, Postecoglou would not only end the club’s 17-year trophy drought but also carve his name into Tottenham’s history books.
