Mark Williams' staggering net worth, wife's public marriage admission and worsening health battle

The Welshman has defied the odds to make it to his fifth World Snooker Championship final, where he faces Zhao Xintong
Mark Williams has made it to the final of the World Snooker Championship for a fifth time and is now just one step away from a fourth world title, bumper payday and a place in the history books.
The Welshman has been in fine form at the tournament, edging past Wu Yize, Hossein Vafaei and John Higgins before booking his place in the final on Saturday night by beating world number one Judd Trump. Williams will now battle it out with Zhao Xintong for the world title, with the final getting underway on Sunday afternoon.
By beating Trump, the 50-year-old became the oldest man ever to reach the World Championship final, meaning if he can defeat Zhao, he will also become the oldest ever winner. The previous oldest finalist was fellow Welshman and six-time winner Ray Reardon, who lost the 1982 final to Alex Higgins aged 49.
"I shouldn't really be competing with the number one player in the world over three days in a first-to-17, but somehow I'm plodding along for us oldies," Williams told BBC after his win over Trump. "I can't believe I'm in another final. I don't know how I'm doing to be honest."
By his own admission, the three-time world champion has defied the odds throughout the tournament, not only rolling back the years but battling against his own worsening health to make it through to the final. With Williams now just one more win away from another world title, here's what you need to know about his health and his life away from the table.
